How to make Chicken Tenders

 How Do You Chicken Tender

Step by Step

Step 1: Ingredients

  • 1-2 pounds Chicken Tenders (room temp.)
  • 1 C Flour
  • 2 Eggs (beaten)
  • 2 T Milk
  • 2 C Panko Bread Crumbs
  • ½ T Salt
  • ¼ t Pepper
  • Oil (your choice)
  • Sauce of your choice (for eating)

Step 2: Season Chicken and Heat Oil

Fill a cast iron with oil about 2 inches and set heat to on medium. This allows the oil to heat up while you are prepping the chicken. Next season your chicken with salt and pepper on both sides (to your taste).

Step 3: Prepare Flour, Bread Crumbs and Egg Mixture

Next on a separate shallow dish add your flour. In another shallow dish add your beaten eggs and milk and whisk to combine. In another separate dish add your Panko bread crumbs and your salt and pepper, whisk together till combined.

    Step 4: Prepare Chicken

Once your oil is hot (around 375 degrees), dredge your chicken in the flour mixture, make sure it is coating well. Shake off the extra and dip in into the egg mixture, shake the extra off and dip into the Panko bread crumbs and shake off the extra. Place the strips onto a a cookie sheet.

    Step 5: Repeat

Repeat these steps until all the chicken is prepared to be fried.

    Step 6: Fry Chicken

Add the chicken to the hot oil. Do not over crowd your chicken in the cast iron. Once your chicken is golden brown (8-10 minutes) take it out and transfer to a plate that have been lined with paper towels. This allows the excess oil to drip and soak into the paper towel for easy disposal.

    Step 7: Enjoy!

Slice the chicken against the grain.
If the grain runs up and down, cut left to right. Make a long stroke with your knife, dragging it through the breast in one clean slice. Cutting against the grain makes your chicken more tender once it's cooked.
